The EvilDM, after a few weeks on the disabled list, has compiled his Twitterings about QAGS into review form. He's not the only one, though: Scott from Castle Perilous (a great game store in Carbondale, IL) has also reviewed QAGS on his blog . Thanks to both of you guys for helping to spread the word.
Laser Ponies, the newest PDF from Hex Games, is now availabe for download at Drivethrurpg, Paizo, RPGnow, YourGamesNow, and the Hex Games web site. The game takes place on the faraway magical world of Panagonia in the heart of Glitter Valley, home of the Laser Ponies. As the name suggests, the Laser Ponies are magical ponies who can shoot lasers out of their eyes. When necessary, they use these lasers to fight the monstrous minions of the evil Chasm Queen.
According to author Leighton Connor, "Laser Ponies is intended as the ultimate 80's Saturday morning cartoon for girls, one unhindered by watchdog groups or cheap animation. The Laser Ponies romp, frolic, and play. And when they need to defend themselves, they can shoot lasers out of their eyes. These lasers can destroy rocks, and they can also kill monsters. Every Laser Ponies game session should feature humor, magic, character interaction, and thrilling laser-blasting action."
Laser Ponies is for girls and boys alike, and is the first all-ages role-playing game from Hex Games. It uses the QAGS system, but you do not have to own the QAGS rulebook—the QAGS Qik Start rules, which tell you everything you need to know to play the game, are included in the back of the book. Also included are rules for Pony Power, 40 story ideas, sample characters, illustrations by up-and-coming young artist Katie Staffiera, and a character sheet featuring a pony that you can color and decorate to match your character.
Laser Ponies is a 24 page PDF with a retail price of $1.99.

The Hex staff is getting ready to converge on Indianapolis for GenCon. Ian arrives today, the rest of us will be there tomorrow or Friday. Since most of the creative powerhouses of Hex will be at the con, we've decided to give the rest of the One Hex Tower staff a few days off (without pay, of course). Our offices will be closed until noon Monday. The premises will be patrolled by vicious attack dogs, however, so don't get any bright ideas.
You can click here for a full list of Hex events at GenCon. All of our games are in the Hyatt and the panel's in the Marriott. Between events, you'll probably find us at a bar somewhere downtown, where you can buy us drinks if you're so inclined. If you'd like to buy some fine Hex products while you're at the con (and who doesn't?), they'll be available at the GPA booth, which is booth #404 in your dealer's room guide.
There's a short but sweet reivew of Funkadelic Frankenstein on the Mean Streets of Monstertown by Jason Corley over at Drivethrurpg.
In other news, TheEvilDM is Tweeting/Twittering/Whatever about QAGS 2nd Edition (Tweviewing?) as he reads the book. He made it through the player's section tonight and so far he seems to like us more than he hates us, which is nice.
That's all the news that's fit to print for the moment. See you at GenCon next week!
