Roland was born in the jungles of Africa, but because of his above-average intelligence, he never really fit in with gorilla society. While still relatively young, Roland stowed away on a boat headed for Great Britain, learning English along the way by observing the crew members. When he arrived in the U.K., Roland used money he made as a dock worker to play the stock market, eventually earning enough money to enroll in Oxford. After earning several degrees, Roland completed his education at the
Pennyworth Butler Academy. Upon graduation, Roland went to
Paradigm City in America in hopes of finding a household worthy of his training. He eventually found his home at
One Bendis Plaza with the
Fantastic Force Family.
