Is an absolutely kick-ass game. I'm scheduled to run it tonight with some friends. They're pretty new at RPGs, but they've played QAGS once before, when i ran it at Gamestorm back in March. Not sure what I'm going to run adventure-wise, since transcribing the Hard Day's Week adventure from the book into Braille would take way, way, WAY longer than I have. May be putting that random adventure generator to use.

I do have a question. Weren't there supposed to be some vehicle rules included in the book? I was really looking forward to checking those out. I know "Cops and Robbers" just came out, but from what I remember, these rules could have been a lightly crispy alternative to the crunchy rules found in that book. What happened?

I'd make sure I could commit to several sessions before I embarked on A Hard Week's Night. It is LONG. It's also totally worth it, though . . . it's one of the only adventures I can remember reading in years that made me say, "I really want to run this!"

You have a good memory, to notice the missing vehicle rules. Blame me. Robert wrote vehicle rules, and included stats for all the vehicle in the adventure, but I cut it all. The reason was one of length. SLU was already our longest book in quite some time, and the vehicle rules added a lot of pages. The vehicle rules were an appendix, and that appendix ended up being one of the longest sections in the book. It made the whole thing kind of lopsided, having what is essentially a whole extra game tacked on at the end.

So I cut out the vehicle appendix and suggested to Robert that it should be a whole separate product. It's already long enough. He said this was a good idea, and hopefully he'll have some time at some point in the near future to get Racing Spies ready for publication.

I have to admit I was really struggling with what kind of "hook" to give Racing Spies before L8ton told me about the cut. After that information, I really feel good about what to do with this supplement.

Be warned though, Blindgeek, the vehicle chase rules that were originally in Sex, Lies and Ultraspies got a lot of great input from kingyak (who wrote QAGS Cops and Robbers), so they are fairly similar. I'm thinking of simplifying them a bit (getting rid of the Chase Board mechanic, for example) to make them a little different from QAGS Cops and Robbers, but they're still going to have a lot of Dumb Random Tables.

Aw, you're killin' me here!

I do like the chase rules presented in Funky Frank, and based on the write-ups I saw in your blog a while back and your comparison of your vehicle rules to those of Fengshui, I'd hoped you'd be expanding more in the KISS direction. Ah well. I'll keep an open mind.
