Hex Games Receives Ten Oggie Awards Nominations PDF Print E-mail

Hex Games is proud to announce its ten nominations in eight categories for the OGRE Awards (Oggies). The Oggies are being presented for the first time this year by the Organization of Gamers and Roleplaying Enthusiasts (OGREs), a nationwide network of gamers dedicated to promoting tabletop and adventure gaming in all its forms.

Hex Games joins Paizo, Green Ronin, Troll Lord, and Privateer Press as a nominee for Company of the Year. The E-Book/Game of the Year category includes two Hex products, Laser Ponies and Leopard Women of Venus, both of which are also nominated in another category: Laser Ponies for Game of the Year and Leopard Women of Venus for New Game/Expansion of the Year. The M-Force Second Edition development web site, www.kickmonsterbutt.com, was nominated for Website of the Year, and the “On Fire” rules from QAGS Second Edition have been recognized in the category of Most Baffling Rule/Mechanic/Quote.

Two Hex artists, Katie Staffiera (Laser Ponies) and Jeffrey Johnson (American Artifacts, Roller Girls Vs., Edison Force) are in the running for Artist of the Year. QAGS co-creator and Hex Operations Director Steve Johnson (Spooky: The Definitive Guide to Horror Gaming, Fratboys Vs., Waxman’s Warriors) has received a nomination in the Author of the Year category.  Last but not least, the Monkeys Took My Jetpack podcast, which is not formally associated with Hex but which features Hex Assistant Creative Director Joshua Burnett, is up for the Pod/Vidcast of the Year Award.

Oggie Awards candidates are nominated by members of the Organization of Gamers and Roleplaying Enthusiasts. The final list of nominees is selected by the OGRE Board of Directors. Voting for the winners begins on September 1st at vote.ogrelair.org. Voting is open to non-members as well as OGREs.
